Knights of God was a 13 x 30 minute series for family audiences (aka children). Shot in Southern England and North Wales where not surprisingly it did not stop raining! It has now achieved that mythical status of being "a cult series" which probably means that no one understood it. |
For the series we operated two Hughes 500s which we temporarily painted black, each fitted with mock rocket launchers. Getting CAA approval was a nightmare. |
Directors, Andrew Morgan and Michael Kerrigan had extensive interior sequences to shoot.
Pilot, Jeremy Cook (right) was requested by wardrobe to wear a modified version of the villains helmets.
"No problem, but I should point out, I can't see a thing through this visor!"
|
Pilots, Jeremy Cook and Paul Moran wear the latest style in leather wear.
In the picture (right) the wardrobe worn actually resembles dustbin bags and wellingtons which whilst appearing as villans, frightened the hell out the Welsh sheep.
Actor Don Henderson (left) may have the right idea. |
"In the year 2030, Great Britain is in the grip of a quasi-religious military dictatorship. The ruling Knights of God have seized power after a civil war during which the industrial north of England has been destroyed and the Royal Family deposed.
Opponents of the regime are sent to "re-education" camps and it is there that two young rebels, were tio meet and forge a bond that will eventually change the course of history". |
The script outline and screenplay was written by Richard Cooper |
Whilst the shoot was not primarily laid on for our entertainment,.despite the rain and a gruelling schedule, it was a thoroughly enjoyable series to undertake. |
